Default Discordway, via le for a Rt player?

Hi all, i've just starter to clean some dust from my ritualist i haven't used for more than 1 yr.

My idea is to play , something like this:

3 discord (the pvx builds)
2 mesmers (panic and inept)
1 Rt (SoS or ST depending on area or what i'm running
1 open slot depending on area

Do you think is viable playing discord considering i will not play AP caller (i really don't like it) but SoS, ST or other Rt based builds?

I have good success running the set up you describe, with myself carrying SoS, Painful Bond, and Enfeebling Blood... plus whatever fun things I feel like throwing in there for the area I'm in. Most of the time once the minion horde is rolling and I've thrown the hex and weakness once, I can pretty much watch the group fall like dominoes.

You can have a full team using the elite skill ''Discord way''.
Using the mercenary packs, you can get more necromancers thus having more damage, healing, hexes & |or protection prayers.

Though, if you do not have or want the mercenary pack, you can use different hero's to complete different needs in damage. Please note elemental damage is fairly reduced in hard mode so consider bringing a Discord Elementalist only in Normal mode.

I do hope that wasn't serious.

Over-stacking discord isn't useful - 4 is the max you should consider bringing, more and it's useless. Don't bother sticking discord on anything except a necro, because doing that implies that you're using too many. Particularly an ele. There's better uses for an ele by far - several viable in HM.

You don't need necromancers to get damage, healing, hexes, or protection prayers o.O

I piss through everyone, including Slavers HM with that sort of setup on heroes, although usually I take just on MM and run 4x mesmers

As long as you still call targets, if your heroes have enough hexes (which with mesmers, they should) you'll be fine. I've gotten rather lazy with my title-hunting ranger and run spirit spam on her with Discordway+Mesmers. I blow through things just as fast (if not faster) as I do my standard AP caller.

Painful Bond is very handy with that set-up, since it affects "nearby." You just want to be mindful of bringing a backup that's able to apply conditions that affect non-fleshies if going into areas like that, since poison and bleeding off minions would be your usual main condition supplier without "YMLAD!" Enfeebling Blood will only go so far in areas like that.

Don't forget that an enchanted foe also satisfies half the requirement for Discord to go off, so a missed hex doesn't break the functionality.

Also, remember that you don't need to just stick with Discordway. There's lots of options, you should have fun and explore them.

Which is fair enough. I - as I don't really know you, so I didn't know your intent - know a lot of people who just use a cookie cutter discord build, so I like to encourage some creativity.
